“Being alone never felt right; sometimes it felt good, but never felt right” – Charles Bukowski
Hi Guys…. it’s been quite some time since my last post… As usual office schedule and mood swings kept me away from sketching…. Now after near about 6 months gap, i’m back with another emotive sketch… Had intended to lay my hands on a tougher sketch after “Loved and Lost”… And this was tough indeed.. Hope the results are satisfactory and u guys like it…
Hi Guys… I’m back! It’s been a long time since my last one.. Was not in my best of moods to draw for the last few months-Thanks to my location change, higher stress quotient and tighter schedule…. This sketch (like the previous one) was also on request … Today was the birthday of the requesitioner and I’m glad that i could complete it by yesterday(although after a loooong delay)..The sketch was sent to him along with my birthday wishes!… The lighting of the photo was not that proper-which is clearly visible.. will try to rectify that in my next one… Hope you guys like it too… Planning to return to my emotive portrait series soon..
Hey guys.. it has been a long gap!!! Now it’s time for my next upload.. Presenting you my new sketch “Adora”!!! Her name is Adora Levin…Her father had approched me mentioning about drawing a sketch of his sweet l’il princess through flickr last April… But i was busy with my earlier sketch at that time.. however, he was ready to wait.. I completed it a month back..but DSLR camera was not available to take a proper snap … Then my recent transfer kept me busy… I was lucky to get the DSLR from one of my senior colleagues in the office Mr. Subramanian M. K. and am thankful to him… The snap was sent to Adora’s Dad last week.. he too has published the pic in his site.. Hope you guys like it!!
Loved and Lost!!!
A new post after about 2 months gap 3-rd in the photorealistic series. Toughest one till date…I lost count of how many hours I have spent on this.. more than 100 for sure… But the result was satisfactory… Thanks to Suvendu for his DSLR again… Planning to try out tougher ones in the future.. Hope you guys like this
Break Me Free
Hi guys!! One more post-2nd on in the phorealistic series.. Lucky to complete this before my next visit home.. This took about 50-60 hrs to complete…Although i’ve done a fair job with the DSLR (thanks to my friend Suvendu to lend me his Canon 550d) the original is far more realistic in its looks!! I’ll upload a better picture if i can manage one!! Hope you guys enjoyed it!!
Hey What's So Special About Me??
Hai Guys!!! One more post after 1.5 months… This project was made taking ample breaks (thanks to the injuries to my finger and knee i caught up with in between) and thus can’t remember the effective time i took to complete it. It is my first attempt towards “emotive portraits”, hope it has come good. The image uploaded is a snap using my cam since i could not get any satisfactory scanned versions. Hope you all like it!!
Pencil Portrait- Will_Kate
Hi Guys!!! This time it’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. My first work on hand made paper(Fabriano-hot pressed pad). the original one is much more realistic than the attached image. Scanning efforts failed miserably and had to compromise with a photograph this time.. will upload the scannned/better quality pic whenever i succeeed in getting one done. It took me almost 3 weeks to complete with ~65 hrs effective working time… hope my efforts have proved worth.
A Pencil Portrait
A post after more than 2 months. This time, the sketch of one of my senior colleagues’ father, made on his request. I have used blending stumps for the 1st time in this picture.. Scanning didn’t trouble me much this time..
Hope you guys luv it!!!
Pencil Portrait - Shazahn Padamsee
Ah!! One more post before my next visit home. This time it’s Shazahn… took almost 1 month to complete…. was planning to make her pic from the time i watched the movie ‘Dil To Baccha Hai Ji’… My scanning woes continue in this one too… Lot of white spaces have devoloped in the scan that has devolpoed in the lighter areas which hampered the natural beauty of the original work. Hope u all would like this…
Most Rev. Dr. Cornelius Elanjikkal
Ah! One more post. This time it is Dr. Cornelius Elanjikkal-Archbishop Emeritus of Varapoly. In relation, he is my father’s uncle and the sketch was made as a present for him. It took 1.5 months to complete and is the largest pencil shading picture i’ve made till date. Hope you guys like it too…
Pencil Shading Portrait of Surya
Ah! My first post of the year 2011. This time it’s Surya.. This pic was also a suggestion from one of my dearest friends.. The scanned image doesn’t show full justice to the original picture. This my first work in which i have tried out some Charcoal pencils and blending techniques… I feel the finishing in this one is better than my older ones
Alas! a post after more than two months…. Took a long time to complete although it was not a complicated one… Most of its work was done in the last 1.5 weeks… Lucky that i could complete it before my next visit home.
Portrait of Kristen Stewart
This picture was selected for me by one of my close friends. It took almost 3 weeks to complete this one. The best thing i liked about this sketch is the hair and have used a different drawing style compared to my previous ones. One of my best till date…
